Admissions

The admissions process at Ellenhorn is especially thorough. That’s because we want to make sure clients we admit into the program are a good fit for our unique model.

Our admissions staff is comprised of licensed clinicians able to help you understand our program both from a clinical perspective as well as a logistical one.

To begin the admissions process, we first speak to the person calling, whether that’s the referring clinician, family member, or the client. Once we have all the information, the admission team speaks with recent treaters, and evaluates records from other programs or hospitals. Finally, we conduct an in‑depth interview with the client to fill in the gaps, which allows us ultimately to decide whether Ellenhorn might be a good fit.

To make a referral to Ellenhorn, please call (800) 515-9972. We typically respond to all calls within 24 hours.

Service Levels

The costs for treatment following the first month are based on levels of intensity of services needed by our clients. When we near the end of our first month, we have a good picture of these levels, and inform clients and their families of them. These levels change during our work, most often decreasing over time, but also increasing depending on what is occurring for our clients.

Levels of intensity provided by PACT community outreach teams are as follows:
  • Maintenance – At this level, a client is likely seeing his or her psychiatrist once or twice monthly, and sees members of his or her team 2-3 times a week.
  • Low – All of our treatment services, usually seen 1–2 times daily.
  • Medium – All of our treatment, usually seen 2–3 times daily.
  • High – All of our treatment services, usually seen 3–4 times daily.
  • High/Extensive – All of our treatment services, usually seen 4–5 times daily.

See our Team page to read about our dynamic, credentialed and licensed team members providing our community-based clinical services.

Boston Supervised Supportive Housing

Brackett House and The Annex

Some clients choose to start their care in Boston by living in one of our residences, either Brackett House, or our apartments nearby, called The Annex. The costs for Brackett House or The Annex stay are calculated on a monthly basis and include all PACT services during the duration of the stay. These costs also often decrease over time.

Most of our clients live on their own in/around Greater Boston, Manhattan, Raleigh-Durham, Los Angeles with 24-hour support from our PACT Teams.

Ellenhorn does not have a strict catchment area; we prioritize level of intensity of service considering travel time in the ability to provide responsive care, especially in a crisis.

Let our admissions clinicians help. They can review cost structure and what to expect with fees. We understand this is a stressful time for families. We’d love to hear from you and help you navigate the complicated behavioral health system. Please call us at (800) 515-9972.
