Erica is a licensed independent clinical social worker in Massachusetts who received a bachelor’s degree from Assumption College in psychology and rehabilitation studies. She earned her MSW at Salem State University, completing field placements at a dual diagnosis group home and Tewksbury State Hospital. Erica joined Ellenhorn in August 2016, following six years of experience working in a PACT program operated by Eliot Community Human Services, a local non-profit organization contracted by the Department of Mental Health to provide intensive outpatient supports to individuals with severe and persistent extreme states of mind. She held various positions, including vocational specialist and lead clinician, then directed the program for almost two years. While with this PACT program, Erica made meaningful connections with individuals and families in treatment, as well as with state agencies and other community-based programs. For most of her career, Erica has helped individuals who experienced the trauma of multiple hospitalizations re-engage with their community and rebuild purposeful lives. Her focus on individualized, person-centered treatment and her belief in the value of enriching life with fun, social, and meaningful activities can be seen in her daily work with clients.
