Sarah (they/she) holds a master’s degree in clinical mental-health counseling with a specialization in trauma studies from Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass. As a person-centered and relational clinician, Sarah believes in the healing power of connection, as well as each person’s ability and right to heal, grow and create meaning. Given the deeply social orientation of the human species, Sarah also believes that individual healing happens in a communal context and contributes to communal healing. With each of their clients, Sarah strives to hold space for complexity, contradiction and hope, while honoring the simultaneously painful and liberating nature of personal transformation. Her clinical work focuses on cultivating insight and self-compassion in service of trauma-informed, holistic healing.
Prior to training as a mental-health clinician, Sarah earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature with a minor in religion from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. They also held a series of operations, theater-technology and faculty-support positions in various educational institutions. As a result, Sarah has experience working with students, teachers and families from preschool through graduate school. She enjoys utilizing art-, narrative-, and nature-therapy techniques, as well as conducting traditional psychotherapy with clients.
