Sarom Kim, LCSW

Sarom Kim, a licensed social worker with Ellenhorn’s Los Angeles PACT team, earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston College and her master’s degree in social work from Columbia University. Prior to joining Ellenhorn, she worked as a PACT clinician specializing in substance-misuse treatment at Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospital in New York City, where she provided community-based services such as crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning in order to ensure that individuals with co-occurring substance-misuse and mental-health conditions received integrated care that promoted harm reduction and was responsive to each client’s stage of change. Over the course of her career, Sarom has provided therapeutic services with a social justice-informed lens to clients in hospital, rehabilitation, community, shelter and correctional settings. She also has experience providing play-based therapy designed to foster social-emotional development in children and adolescents with developmental disabilities, including those undergoing the adoption process or in foster care.

Sarom is passionate about utilizing a strengths-based, person-centered approach in treatment, and has done extensive work with grief, complex trauma and resilience. She strives to provide holistic, culturally competent treatment with unconditional positive regard in order to provide compassionate, recovery-based and trauma-informed services focused on collaboration and hope.
