Scott Friedstein, CPS

Peer Specialist

Scott Friedstein is a certified peer specialist and recovery coach who earned his bachelor’s degree in theatre from the University of Maine at Farmington. Scott began peer work in 2021 as part of Vinfen’s YouForward young-adult program in Everett and Lawrence, Mass., where, as a peer-leadership coordinator, he was responsible for creating youth-focused events, groups and workshops aimed at driving engagement and supporting self-determination and independence. Scott is also certified in Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP), an evidence-based model used to promote recovery through a self-made wellness plan.

Scott believes in using the power of connection to eliminate stigma and build meaningful relationships, and is passionate about sharing his own story of mental-health recovery in order to inspire hope and engage clients. Scott is also a comedian and musician and uses creativity and self-expression to bridge barriers and create a strengths-based approach to recovery.
