Wellness Program

Integrative recovery is a client-centered approach that addresses the physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and environmental influences that affect a person’s health and well-being. At Ellenhorn, we add Eastern concepts and approaches to our traditional therapeutic practices to expand our clinical repertoire and enhance our work with clients.

Eastern influences have been shown to positively affect outcomes in many areas of Western medicine. Recent scientific research validates these age-old approaches used globally for thousands of years. In the field of psychiatric treatment, research points to the effectiveness of mind-body practices to foster psychiatric recovery. Research-based evidence also indicates the value of a more integrated and comprehensive approach to psychosocial rehabilitation.

Our Wellness Group of clinicians partners with clients and their Ellenhorn team to create a personalized program that integrates all the factors that influence health and wellness – mind, body, spirit, and community – into a client’s treatment.

The program complements our clients’ Roadmap to Recovery with wellness-enhancing practices. These practices help clients become independent and serve them throughout their healing and psychosocial recovery.

Every client’s overall wellness is considered an essential part of their Roadmap. Some clients are ready, able and willing to dive into integrative wellness practices – and some aren’t. Regardless of their readiness and/or ability, each client’s lifestyle, nutrition and resiliency affects their ability to partner with their team in clarifying and working toward their psychosocial goals. These aspects of wellness are often the foundation of recovery and are followed closely by the wellness clinician on the team throughout treatment. We meet the client where they are, find the starting points, and build from there.
